The Challenge
CIPS required a bespoke application to manage their external assessor resources effectively. The application needed to address several key requirements:
Capacity and Diary Management: A system to interact with external resources, enabling efficient scheduling and capacity management for assessors.
Self-Billing and Invoicing: An application allowing assessors to raise invoices that could seamlessly integrate into the CIPS finance system for automated processing after authorisation.
Survey Data Integration and Reporting: A solution to collect data from online surveys and generate detailed reports, with functionality to link to third-party systems for comprehensive analysis.
The Solution
PSP IT Design and Development created a bespoke Windows application tailored to meet CIPS' exact needs. The solution introduced robust workflows and task management capabilities, streamlining operations significantly.
Key benefits included:
Eliminating Manual Work: The application removed the need for extensive manual intervention, reducing reliance on spreadsheets and minimising email communication.
Improved Efficiency: It replaced time-consuming processes with automated workflows, saving countless hours of administrative effort.
Future Enhancements
In December 2024, CIPS confirmed their intent to expand and evolve the application to align with their growing needs:
CIPS for Business Integration: The system will be enhanced to support the "CIPS for Business" initiative, broadening its scope and utility.
Migration to a Web-Based Platform: To ensure global accessibility, the application will transition from a Windows-based platform to a web-based solution, enabling CIPS divisions worldwide to utilise its features.
The development is planned as a phased roll out over 12 months, ensuring the application can deliver immediate value while accommodating future updates and enhancements.
